Day 16

21 Day Focus

Abortion remains a widely acceptable form of birth control in this country. Estimates for the last decade indicate that well over 100 million unborn children died. Some of this is tied to what was this country’s laws restricting family births. Due to this country’s traditional emphasis upon the priority of male children over female, the majority of those aborted have been girls. The resulting gender imbalance means that somewhere between 20 and 30 million men will be left single by the year 2020. Such a

disparity between males and females contribute to the increased risk of rape, sex trafficking, prostitution and widespread homosexuality and the potential increase of STDs/AIDS. Please pray for:

1) Those who have aborted children as well as those who have been sexually abused or exploited. Furthermore, family size laws have resulted in a generation of “little emperors and empresses.” Raised without siblings and over-indulged by both parents and grandparents, they represent the hopes and dreams of the older generation. Tremendous pressure rests upon these children.

2) These children who are growing up under an atheistic educational system that is combined with a culture of self-absorption and self-indulgence.

3) The country’s youth will find “family” in the communities of “Christ-believers.”

4) With fewer children available to care for aging parents, the country’s state will come under increasing pressure for the care of the aged. Many of the elderly face prospects of abandonment and insufficient care. Pray for the national believers to be able to step into the gap in providing love and care for these senior citizens.
